One of Haiti Communitere’s proudest initiatives since our launch back in 2010 is the Tab Wond (The Roundtable), an initiative under which grassroots initiatives in Cite Soleil receive a small amount of support from HC: the “denyer kilomet”, or last kilometer of funding. In October, 2018, the most recent project of the Tab Wond to receive funding was a celebration of Global Handwashing Day. Under this initiative, dozens of children from projects lead by our local partners received training about the importance of good hygiene in the fight against waterborne diseases. There was music, snacks and Haiti Communitere had the opportunity to distribute materials that will be used for hand washing at schools in Cite Soleil.
